She's the First launches new WEBSITE! For those of you unfamiliar with She's the First, now is an excellent time to check it out! This is an organization near and dear to my heart and I encourage you all to learn more about it. She's the First is dedicated to empowering girls in the developing world by sponsoring their education. Through funds raised by girls just like you, girls in places like Haiti, Sudan and Nepal gain opportunities they would otherwise not have access to.
From the website:
Educating girls isn’t just about equality – it’s about the economy. Research consistently shows that educating girls and enabling their participation in the workforce substantially increases a country’s GDP, or economic output. Women invest 90% of their income back into the household, whereas men reinvest only 30-40% and spend the rest on entertainment and less important needs. An extra year of primary school increases girls’ wages by 10% to 20%. An extra year of secondary school adds 15% to 25%.
Click here to get involved today!! Buy a bracelet... or throw a fundraiser with your friends! Visit the new website and see how you can help while being a part of a growing community of young women dedicated to helping other young women around the world.
